Kochi, Feb 18,2013: At last Kerala students get justice. The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to open three more centres for JEE Main online examination for Kerala students. These centres are at Thrissur, Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram.  Though there is no change in the date of examination this will give solace to a large number of students.
The exam is on April 9, 22nd, 23rd and 25th. Since Kerala Engineering Entrance coincides with 22nd and 23rd students from Kerala were a worried lot during last one or two weeks. Since each centre can accommodate 3400 students at a time this measure will result in fresh registration possible for more than 10,000 students in a single day (3400 x 3). By this evening the slot registration window started functioning. Students can choose their slots till 22nd February.
At present Ernakulam centre has seats only on 22nd and 23rd. A number of students who plan to write both exams had registered for 22nd or 23rd at Ernakulam. Though CBSE communication says that the change is possible for them too, that option is not funtioning.
Mathrubhumi Education had several times contacted Entrance Commissioner B S Mavoji and informed him of the matter. It was the CEE who took the matter seriously and conveyed it to Principal Secretary of Higher Education Dr. Abraham. He personally met CBSE officials at Delhi and briefed.
