Keam 2015 : KVASU increases BVSc & AH seats by 40

The Academic Council of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has decided to increase the existing seats for BVSc & AH from 220 to 260. An additional 10 supraneumerary seats will be allotted for VHSc and Diploma students of KVASU.University will pursue further for launching BTech Food Technology course in the next  academic year.

The 16th Academic Council held at Pookode on June 1, 2015, also decided to start 14 new courses, including courses under technology enabled learning programmes, said Dr B Ashok, Vice Chancellor.

Courses, include P.G. Diploma in Climate Services in Animal Agriculture, P.G. Diploma in Climate Services, PG Diploma in Meat Processing Technology, PG Diploma in Toxicologic Pathology, PG Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Assurance, PG Diploma in Therapeutic Management of Infectious Diseases of Pet Animals and Pet Birds, Post Graduate Certificate Course in Veterinary Homeopathy, Certificate programme in Histologic and Anatomy Musuem, PGD in Dairy entrepreneurship and Poultry entrepreneurship, diploma in Dairy and Poultry entrepreneurship.

Moreover, university will launch smart phone based three months courses in the areas of Dog care and management and organic farming.Technology enabled courses will be under Move on to open online courses mode.University will use SWAYAM software of Ministry of Human resources Development of Government of India and Amrita Virtual Interactive E learning World software of Amrita University.

Toxicologic pathology will be an international programme in which 10 international experts from UK, USA and Canada will be the resource persons. All the Entrepreneurship courses will be available for graduates and SSLC holders. Graduates can join for Post graduate diploma programmes. SSLC/Plus 2 holders can apply for diploma programmes which will be delivered in Malayalam.

Veterinary graduates can join for the post graduate certificate programme in Veterinary Homeopathy course.

University will establish Academic Staff Training College at Mannuthy in tune with the stipulations of UGC. It has been decided to increase the number of Merit scholarships for UG, PG students, the VC added.
